Korea Cultural Events and Free Admissions during Seollal Holidays

This year’s Seollal is on January 25, and the Seollal holiday period is from January 24 to 27.

To celebrate this traditional holiday, major historical tourist attractions in Seoul and the metropolitan area will offer free admission. The four royal palaces (Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Deoksugung Palace) as well as Jongmyo Shrine and the royal tombs, Yeongneung & Nyeongneung Royal Tombs & Seolleung and Jeongneung, will offer free admission and cultural events during the Seollal holiday period. In particular, Jongmyo Shrine will welcome visitors during the holiday period to tour the site freely without prior reservation and guide. Furthermore, exhibitions at MMCA Seoul and the National Science Museum will also offer free admission.
